Price-list for the Commercial driving licence

Pricing Information:

Our prices are determined based on the minimum required hours for both theoretical and practical training. In the event that a student needs to retake an exam, whether theoretical or practical, the student is responsible for covering the additional costs incurred. If additional practical hours beyond the minimum requirement for each license category are necessary, a separate payment is required for each extra hour.

Important Notes:

• Prices are structured on a cash payment basis, settled on the initial days of the course. It's essential to be aware that payments made by credit card or credit card loan are considered equivalent to cash payments.

• Exam fees at Frumherja are not included in the driving school's course prices. Please refer to the price list of exam fees at the bottom of the page for details.

• Older driving licenses allowing increased weight or passenger capacity, acquired without a specific course, are not applicable to the study for enhanced driving rights, as per the decision of the Icelandic Transportation Authority.

• Each driving hour is 45min

Note on Exam Fees: Exam fees for Frumherji are not part of the course costs and can be found under "Other Fees" below.

Retraining for Commercial Drivers: Retraining comprises 5 courses, each priced at 20,000. If all 5 courses are taken at Ekill, the fifth course is free, resulting in a total of 80,000.

Payment Options: Ekill Driving School offers three payment options, aside from cash or card:

1. Get a payment slip sent to your home bank; the recipient pays a slip fee.
2. Installment loan at Borgun, with costs and interest according to the Teya price list.
3. Pei payment slips, with a 2.5% fee on top of the cash price. Interest, notices, and payment fees according to Pei's price list.

NOTE: Driving lessons and theory not completed, expire in 4 years. 

Grants for Work-Related Studies: For information, individuals and companies can apply jointly (but separately) for a grant for work-related education. Note that this does not apply to general driving lessons. More details here

We remind companies in Efling, Hlíf, and VSFK with staff that funding for staff training is available. No separate membership application is necessary; the right is created automatically with the payment of salary-related fees. The annual right for companies, regardless of size, is 3 million ISK. More information is available at www.starfsafl.is.

Additionally, companies can apply for a grant for company training on the fund's website, www.attin.is.
